Singapore Contemporary Young Artists

Playing With & For The Community

Imprints – a and SCYA exhibition

Imprints hopes to encourage readers of, as well as youths who have interest in the arts and culture, to discover the joys of art appreciation.

The concept behind the exhibition stemmed from’s wish to create an awareness of the local arts scene and cater a show for the uninitiated, who otherwise are intimidated by the elusiveness of art. Aside from being an effort to bring the online community to the offline realm, hopes that this exhibition would further encourage the public to not just check out the artists’ works, but to visit the museum’s galleries and gradually explore the idea of visiting museums.

With centred on nostalgia and moments of the past, eight SCYA artists – Aiman Hakim, Angela Chong, Ee Shaun, Hilmi Johandi, Jackyln Soo, Jacqui Rae, Kelvin Atmadibrata and Tay Jiun Lin – were selected to reinterpret these relatable themes and develop them into art works that are both heartfelt and diverse.

The exhibition opens on the 6th of May, 730pm at red dot design muscum and ends on the 11th of May. Free entry to the museum during the exhibition period.

There will also be a live performance art piece by artist Kelvin Atmadibrata, so we hope to see you there!
