SCYA and Standard Chartered for ‘Seeing is Believing’

Seeing is Believing is a charity art auction presented by Standard Chartered Bank and organised by SCYA.

15 October saw the silent auction of art works by SCYA artists raise funds for a collaboration between Standard Chartered Bank and the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness. About three hundred guests attended the evening cocktail party. The exclusive event was held at the Asian Civilisations Museum which presented a stately location for 43 diverse artworks by 32 SCYA artists.

At the close of the silent auction, 23 artworks were sold to raise a combined $130,000. As part of Seeing is Believing’s pledge to raise US$20 million for 20 million people, half of these proceeds will go towards providing and improving sustainable access to eye-care for people in impoverished urban areas across the globe.

One of SCYA’s grandest and biggest shows so far, there still lingers a buzz after the event, and we are very proud and heartened with this successful turnout. Congratulations to the Artists who had their pieces sold, and a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who have supported this event, whether with wallets or through hard effort.
