minimART, Art Market for Young Contemporary Artists

Hello fellow artist,

Vincent Chow and Kelvin Atmadibrata are organising an art market at the Substation.

minimART is an art market dedicated for young contemporary artists and collectors. Inspired the mushrooming numbers of art fairs in Singapore, minimART takes the form of art bazaar where artists can rent a space, approximately 1m x 1m (floor space) just for $30! The fee collected is to cover the rental cost at the Substation.

You can showcase original fine art works ranging from paintings, mixed media, print making, sculpture, new media, photography, installation, performance and other forms of contemporary practice. Works showcased, installed, for sale and experimented have to be priced under $1,000.

It is a no-frills, not-for-profit event organised by artists for artists in Singapore! It aims to contribute to the development in local artistic practice, in particular young contemporary artists by encouraging constant production of art among the young artists in Singapore. It also hope to plant the seed of collecting local art among art enthusiats with affordable artworks.

The art market will happen on 2 July 2011 Saturday at the Substation.

Let them know if you are interested to be part of this! And share with them too if you have interesting ideas for the event.

We are also seeking sponsorship for the event, suggestions are welcome!
