Playing With & For The Community

Let’s Invent Stories – A Puppet & Instrument making workshop. (Update)

Throughout the month of March, we have conducted a Puppet & Instrument Making Workshops in Boon Lay CC. During the workshop, not only do we teach families on D.I.Y puppet and instrument making, but we help to prep them for their own performance on 30th March! They will perform for “Glitter Under The Stars”, an arts festival held at Jurong Central Park to promote the arts to residents in the area. Plus, Minister Lawrence Wong (Acting Minister For Culture, Community and Youths and Senior of State, Ministry of Communications and Information) will be watching!

The performance was went well as the minister had enjoyed the little fun and adorable stories that the children had created. Although it was a wet, gloomy and muddy day for everyone in the arts village, the circumstances did not damped their spirits and continued to have fun in the arts village. It was also heart warming to see parents of participating children giving in their all during the performance, as they helped their child with the puppet and let their child narrate their story. As for the child, they were very excited for their performance as it was their first stage performance.  To them, it was an accomplishment and an achievement.

Below are photos of the event:
