Clay Sculpture Workshop with Delta Senior School – Session 1

A hero can be a manifestation from someone in our daily life; parents, friends, teachers, superior, mentor, and it can also be an external source taken from a cartoon or movie characters that has the power to break or shape the world.

In SCYA’s new collaboration project, Jacquelyn and KC Gan are coming together with 20 students from Delta Senior School as part of a Charity Art Programme by UBS. Assisting them with the workshop are Wan Xiang, Safrie and Alwyn.

For this 10 week long project, 20 special needs students ranging from 17 years old to 21 years old are setting aside their Wednesday afternoons to join in the sculpture making workshop working around the theme of heroes. All art pieces will be displayed in a final exhibition in September.

The first session commenced yesterday with the students brainstorming ideas of who their heroes are and their qualities. The students even went on the extra step of creating a new hero for themselves!

The artists along with the assistants also helped the students to further unleash the potential of their heroes with some basic drawing tips.
