Instrument Making @ Picnic in the Park

SCYA went down for an Instrument Making Workshop at Picnic in the Park at Pasir Ris Town Park a couple of Sundays ago to join Pasir Ris Town residents for a relaxing windy day filled with music, food, company and interesting fringe activities!

Our booth had a variety of DIY instruments ready to be made on the spot, like tambourines, drums and shakers. We then decorate the instruments with coloured markers and interesting paper cut outs. It was a really windy day and our materials kept flying around!

Our assistant, May Si, taking care of our materials so they won’t fly away with the wind.

The event kicked off very well with a good response of young children wanting to make and personalize their own instruments. We had very creative designs as well!

The event went through the evening until 8pm, finishing off with an interesting instrument ensemble and everyone was encouraged to use our instruments to join in the fun.

Our enthusiastic last participants for the day with the shakers!

Though it was a long 3 hour workshop under the hot yet windy weather, all of us had a good day under the tent enjoying our last Sunday of August!

Picnic in the Park @ Pasir Ris Town Park was organised by PA.
