Playing With & For The Community
SCYA went down to the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) last Saturday to conduct one of our popular children’s workshop – Music Instrument Making!
Our participants from SGH featured a group of 20 child-parent pairs from the Hearing Impaired Department. Our children participants are all fitted with a hearing kit and they vary in ages.
We made this workshop extra special with a Nature theme. With the help of Elizabeth conducting our fun warm up games, the children and their parents got excited and quickly settled in for the workshop.
We then introduced some interesting nature sounds into the workshop with a story of walking through a jungle. We also used our instruments to make the sounds of the nature and got the children excited to make their instruments!
After finishing off their instruments, both the parents and children engaged in a sing and dance session with their newly made instruments. Everyone loved the sounds their instruments made!
We had so much fun during the workshop, and we are pretty sure the children did too!
