Playing With & For The Community
Singapore Contemporary Young Artists had the opportunity to conduct two workshops for Damai Primary School as part of their Aesthetics Camp for the March Holidays! Jacquelyn Soo conducted a tie dye workshop while Dominic Tong conducted a coffee art workshop.
Jacquelyn’s workshop taught the students two tie dye techniques. The first is using marbles while the other is bamboo folding. The students had plenty of fun pretending they were doctors injecting their patients!
Dominic’s workshop taught the students how to use coffee powder to make a simple artwork. Students drew an image that they wanted or they could choose from several references printed out for them. They then used coffee powder, glue and water colour to fill their drawings!
All in all, a rewarding camp for the students from Damai Primary. Bringing home not just their artworks but also techniques that they could use in the future!
