Throwback: Let’s Paint@South West CDC, with JTC and Yuhua

This March, SCYA was invited to adorn 12 walls of BLK 102, Jurong East St 13 with murals based on the Landscape of the Western region of Singapore, about the industrial achievements of JTC, and the social diversity of Yuhua constituency.

On the team for this project are Leo Liu, (Lead Artist) Terry Wee, Zhang Hua, Eunice Lim (Assistant Artists) and Billy (myself, handyhands), with a cameo appearance by Syamil on one of the evening sessions.

It was a very nice void deck area at the corner of the BLK 102 Jurong East St 13, we started sketching the approved designs on 11 March 2016

The following Monday 14/3/16, a 30-strong team of JTC staff showed up to help commence the painting works.

We had volunteers from Fuhua Primary School the next day to help with the painting

Later that evening, the Residents’ Committee came to help to paint.

Subsequently, we spent another week to finish up and clean up all the building details before the murals’ big day with Minister Grace Fu on the 28/3/16

Aaaand, a wefie.

All positive responses!
